Whiteway is located on Route 80, approximately 30 km from the TCH and just 105 km from the capital city, St. John's. This charming little town is famous for its community pride and spirit.

• A sawmill built in the late 1800s became the main reason for the economic growth of this community. Many of the local residents found employment in this sawmill while others made their living from the sea. Today many residents remain employed in the community in the following industries:
