-When the wind is in the east 'Tis neither good for man nor beast.

Common signs of bad weather especially rain & fog

- Dog sleeping through the day.
- Spiders very active.
- arthritic pains in the elderly.
- Lots of dogberries in the fall means a lot of snow in the winter.
- soot falling to the ground

SHEILA'S BRUSH - Fierce storm and heavy snowfall about the 18th of March. Sheila's Brush is the last of winter usually around St. Patrick's day. The snow is a result of Sheila's sweeping. Legend has it that Sheila was St. Patrick's wife, sister or mother. Sometimes a storm before "Paddy's" Day is called Patrick and Sheila.

Lion "When March comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb, when it comes in like a lamb, it goes out like a lion"  If this weather prediction is true don't put away your shovels yet, for winter is far from over.
