The BTYC is comprised of 13 democratically elected members. Members are representatives from the 3 subzones of the Baccalieu Trail, as follows:
As well, 1 member is elected to serve as Youth Representatives on the Board of Directors of the RED Board, M-RON Inc. This seat ensures that the concerns and issues of youth are voiced through the proper channels. Along with the 13 members, a Youth Coordinator representing M-RON Inc. works closely with the council in developing and supporting youth initiatives. A Resource Support Specialist, also representing M-RON Inc., and a representative from FINALY! sits on the council for continued guidance and support. Membership is open to any youth between the ages of 15 - 30 years. From the 13 elected members, an executive is chosen. The positions are as follows:
The Chairperson from the previous year occupies the seat for the following term as Past Chairperson. The aim is to maintain continuity from year to year. As well, at the council meeting immediately prior to the AGM, the current council can select, by democratic vote, a maximum of 4 members to continue on for the following term. For more information on becoming a member, please contact us. The BTYC is currently seeking membership from youth, ages 15 - 29 years, who reside on the Baccalieu Trail. As a member, you will be invited to all BTYC initiatives, receive a quarterly newsletter as well as have an opportunity to become an elected member of the BTYC by attending the annual AGM held each fall.
